Task Definition

Research the role that innovation or creation plays in our own time and develop an essay which does one of the following:

  1. Discusses how technological advances (or other advances) have limited personal freedoms.
  2. Discusses how innovations, or creations, if left unchecked, can spiral out of control (ie: become “monsters”).

In responding to this assignment you must explain how the answer to your question exists in both Frankenstein and your selected topic.

Process

  1. Notes from one of the two note-taking systems (follow the formats discussed in class) from researching THREE different innovations/creations (see brainstorming list below). You will need THREE note cards per innovation/creation. (9 note cards total)
  2. Notes (from one of the note-taking systems) on your final selected topic. (50 notecards minimum)

  3. Essential question and thesis statement (the answer to your question)
  4. An essay outline which includes thesis statement, a topic sentence for each body paragraph, and concrete details for each paragraph
  5. A rough draft
  6. A peer evaluation
  7. A final draft
